Testimonials

“The teachers would never believe that my daughter is a picky eater, because she usually has seconds! It's only been a few weeks, and we are super happy with our decision to send our child here. Really amazing energy, in every aspect. Our child is happy.”

“We are thrilled to be a part of this school and school community. The setting and the approach are wonderful and the natural environment on the island really helps offset the urban reality of living downtown.

We really wanted our kids to have a better sense of the natural environment and everything about this school really contributes to this from the Ferry ride, the beautiful walk to and from the school and the school grounds as well.

Staff, facilities and the program are all excellent and we will definitely send our youngest here as well when he is of age.”

“I wouldn’t send my children anywhere else. The WMCC has passionate, hardworking staff who are remarkable at working with young children.

The school itself is situated on a picturesque little island surrounded by the harbour (and a stunning view of Lake Ontario and city skyline), a tranquil meadow and meandering pathways sheltered by a canopy of mature fir trees.

Each journey to school is a great adventure! Lots and lots of time outdoors exploring and learning from nature.”

“A kid’s first school experience could be a little challenging. But, the Waterfront Montessori is probably the best one to be had in downtown Toronto.

The teachers are professional and caring, and the setting of the school is almost magical, especially in autumn. It sits in a meadow at the edge of the Algonquin Island Park, surrounded by nature, and with a view of the city skyline over the lake.

The way to school is also special. What could be more amazing than having a boat for your first school bus? (except maybe a plane). On the way to school and back, they are either walking or riding bikes or strollers and discovering things along the way. Tobias often comes back with stories of a spider, a frog, a snake, or even a peacock. And the occasional gift of something he picked up along the way.

I also love that they allow you to wean your kid into their new experience by coming along and supporting your child while they build a relationship with their teachers. Life’s an adventure, and this school is probably the best start on it any child can have.”
